God Is Still Alive

God is not distant. He is not silent. He is not absent from our world. He is alive, moving in power, working through His people, and speaking to those who are willing to listen.

Yet, for many, it’s easy to wonder if He is truly at work today. We read about miracles in the Bible, hear stories from distant places, and sometimes feel like we’re missing something. I’ve been there. I wrestled with doubt. I saw things in Scripture that I had never personally experienced, and I found myself asking, “Is God really moving like this today?”

Then, I reached a breaking point. I wanted more.

Stepping Out of the Boat

There comes a moment when we must choose: Do we stay in the boat, safe and comfortable, or do we step out in faith, even if it means sinking before we learn to walk on water?

For me, the decision wasn’t easy, but desperation fueled my obedience. I wasn’t content to hear secondhand stories of God’s power—I wanted to experience it firsthand. And when I finally said, “Yes, Lord, I will trust You,” my life changed.

I discovered that God is still speaking. He still heals. He still performs miracles. He still calls His people to radical obedience. But there’s one thing I can guarantee: listening to God will take you out of your comfort zone.

Hearing God Will Cost You

When you begin to truly listen to God and obey, you’ll quickly find that His voice challenges the status quo. It will stretch you, refine you, and yes—it will cost you.

• He may call you to talk to someone unexpected, like Ananias being sent to minister to Saul (Acts 9).
• He may call you to go somewhere unfamiliar, like Peter being led to the Gentile Cornelius (Acts 10).
• He may call you to stand in faith, like Philip being sent to share the gospel with an Ethiopian official (Acts 8).

And when you obey, not everyone will understand. Some may question you. Others may oppose you. I’ve been asked to leave churches. I’ve faced persecution and rejection simply for testifying to what God has done. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Because when you follow God’s voice, you step into the most incredible adventure of your life.

A Call to Radical Obedience

If you’re feeling stuck, longing for more of God, I encourage you: Listen. Obey. Step out.

God’s voice is calling, but it requires a willing heart. If you are looking for comfort, mediocrity, and a predictable life, then staying where you are might feel safer. But if you want to walk in the power of God—if you want to see miracles, signs, and wonders—then you must be willing to follow Him wherever He leads.

Even if it’s uncomfortable.
Even if it doesn’t make sense.
Even if it costs you something.

God is alive. He is still speaking. He is still moving.
